About

The Happy Place project is a creative writing project run by the Friends of Henleaze Library. It is funded by Bristol Libraries Innovation Fund and the Literature Works Annual Fund. We are enormously grateful to them and all our supporters for making this project happen.

There are four main features of the project:

  • A Happy Space in the library
  • A writer-in-residence
  • Online writing workshops
  • This website

We have created a special Happy Space in Henleaze Library in Bristol where we can think and write about what is good in our lives. We are running drop-in sessions here in May and June 2022.

The poet Mab Jones is our writer-in-residence in 2022. She and Caleb are running the drop-in writing sessions with the public and they look forward to meeting you. You can find out more about Mab here.

We hosted 4 online Zoom creative writing workshops in Autumn 2021. These were run by Bristol Poet Laureate Caleb Parkin.

This website has more information on the project and the people involved,  as well as writing pieces, resources and links to useful websites. Please explore!
